Things that made me happy this morning:

• Pestering my colleagues in the US late last night made sure that we have YQL tables for Google Buzz
• In case you ever go to Bergen, Norway, beware the Scuba Divers in the street
• Mashable has a nice infographic of the state of the internet
• Safer Internet is a Europe-wide campaign to tell kids about the dangers of going online – very cool videos. I especially like the golden rules of communication (but notice the URI fail)
• Minify is PHP5 script to, err minify scripts
• Phishing with Google wave shows a potential attack vector
• 12 reasons why gay marriage should be illegal has some very logical points, like “Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.”
• Anatoly Zenkov has a cool mouse tracking utility that records what you with your mouse in the background and creates an overlay image.
• Twilio now has a SMS API

Things that made me happy this morning:

• 10 steps to organising a barcamp has great info on exactly that
• the social mention API covers several social networks and allows you to search for keyterms
• I want the 8gb Lego minifig thumb drive
• A great peek into the process how classic computer games were built including Mario, Tetris and Pong
• A Stormtrooper singing in the rain
• A great list of open datasets
• Undop is a tool to stop you from wasting too much time on those sites that normally make you do that
• Skulpt is a Python parser in the browser – whoa!
• The Google Wave API roadmap is now available
• The YouTube Data API now supports captions

Things that made me happy this morning:

• My colleagues in Korea did a nice screencast of GeoMaker in Korean
• A cool video of a fractal animation of generated mountains and lakes done in 1979-80 on a VAX!
• Interesting survey about the popularity of email clients from campaign monitor.
• Another good introduction to object oriented PHP – I started using json_decode(‘{foo:”bar”,baz:[“moo”,”bark”]}’);
• PostScript and PDF for HTML5 canvas – OK then…
• Cool, almost steampunk Disney design concepts
• A very large collection of search interface screenshots
• Seems like more and more airports will start tagging luggage with RFID – makes more sense than the barcode stickers anyway
• Google releases the messaging protocol of Wave as open source – this should make it easier to extend it.
• The Color scheme designer is not only really pretty but also allows you to simulate different forms of color blindness.
